Reverse Engineering
Reverse Engineering is the process going from a physical sample part back to a CAD file.
Reasons for reverse engineering:
- The component you are looking for is no longer available like from an antique mechanism or a classic car.
- You have an Idea to improve a existing design.
- A part of a mechanism is missing entirely. To reconstruct it we would create models of the available parts and fit the missing part in like a puzzle piece.
- You have been manufacturing components for a long period of time and use hard tooling to do so, but now your tooling is at the end of its life cycle and requires a rebuild.
- You build a hand made physical prototype and now your ready to into production.
There are certainly more reasons but these are the most common for reverse engineering and if this is what you need contact us.
