Reverse Engineering

Reverse Engineering is the process going from a physical sample part back to a CAD file.

Reasons for reverse engineering:

• The component you are looking for is no longer available like from an antique mechanism or a classic car.
• You have an Idea to improve a existing design.
• A part of a mechanism is missing entirely. To reconstruct it we would create models of the available parts and fit the missing part in like a puzzle piece.
• You have been manufacturing components for a long period of time and use hard tooling to do so, but now your tooling is at the end of its life cycle and requires a rebuild.
• You build a hand made physical prototype and now your ready to into production.
